“… I’ve been searching for a feeling, that I felt so long ago-

it is something I need right now ...”

(from “Foot To The Floor” off the forthcoming EP release “Roll Up Your Sleeves”)

Every so often a singer/songwriter comes along and speaks for a generation.  That saying gets tossed around way too much.  In the case of Martin Sosinski it’s not just one generation he speaks for but several that listens and relate.  With a song catalog that exceeds 150 originals there’s plenty for everyone to make their own connection.  This is especially true on his latest release “Roll Up Your Sleeves”.  The EP features 5 songs from an interesting part in Sosinski’s well traveled career.

Bursting onto the Scene over 10 years ago, in his native Sweden, then in Venice, CA, Sosinski has paid his dues in more than just Kronors and Dollars.  Starting out as a southern comfort Rock & Roll band then a Heavy Metal Group, which led to an 11 Piece Latin Laced R&B outfit.  11 pieces were scaled down to a funk trio, a 5 piece Acoustic Ensemble followed, with cello and mandolin.  The line-up on his latest release, a quartet, completes the circle back to Rock & Roll brewed in the South but layered with hints of other flavors.

Sosinski has created, re-created, fused and melded his sound so many times that his style escapes being labeled in just one genre. Sosinski has cultivated a sound that builds around his most personal contributions – his voice, both written and sung.  Part his own, and part ours, as it’s familiarity welcomes us [the listener] in as if you’ve heard his songs a 100 times before.

Sosinski has appeared on two of Scandinavia’s top rated television shows; “Good Morning Sweden” and TV3 Live, and performed live on European tours of Los Lobos and Stone Temple Pilots.  Having reached critical acclaim before, Sosinski is not counting on being the next big thing

…“Music to me is a form of living, breathing, understanding, seeing, feeling and communicating.  I’ve always felt music is what makes me feel alive…Writing songs and performing them, is who I am.”*

A new EP would be quite an achievement for most independent musicians but Sosinski doesn’t stop there.  There has been an LA based camera crew following him around the past few years documenting his triumphs and the process by which he creates his craft. The DVD “Foot to the Floor, A Musical Journey with Martin Sosinski” accompanies the EP and features the artist formerly known as The Icebreaker re-telling his musical story…

“… I am ready for a good time and all my friends are here.

I am ready for a new love, maybe this will be a big love ...”

Faced with a deadline to resolve his immigration status Sosinski has decided the time is right to “see America from a tour bus”  and bring his music to the people.  He embarks on a 27 City nationwide tour in early September and will lay it all on the line when he steps on stage solo.  If his warm up shows are any indication the tour should prove to be a defining moment in his well traveled career.
